The Ultrason® resins are amorphous thermoplastics derived from polyethersulfone (PESU), polysulfone (PSU) and polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) and offer very high resistance to heat. Their wide spectrum of beneficial properties allows them to be molded into high-quality parts for household and catering gear, membrane filtration, automotive as well as E&E applications. They can be processed by almost all the techniques adopted for thermoplastics.
Ultrason® can be successfully used for applications in which other plastics, e. g. polyamide, polycarbonate, polyoxymethylene and polyalkylene terephthalates, fail to meet the requirements. By virtue of their extraordinary versatility, Ultrason® resins can substitute thermosets, metals and ceramics in a lot of industries.
The key features of Ultrason® are:
* Temperature-independent properties * Very high long-term service temperatures * Good dimensional stability * Excellent stiffness * Very good mechanical strength * High transparency: honey-colored tint * Good electrical insulation properties * Favorable dielectric properties * Very good fire behavior * Excellent hydrolysis and chemical resistance
S 2010 G4: Medium viscosity injection moulding grade with high rigidity and strength, 20 % glass fiber reinforced. Abbreviated designation according to ISO 1043-1: PSU-GF
